Extended Design Thinking™
Research-backed University-accredited Nationally Scaled
Developed after a 16-week mixed methods study, Extended Design Thinking addresses the learning-to-industry gap many students face. The course identifies 8 holistic learning skills that help students not only apply existing knowledge but also actively seek new knowledge through a creative, design-led process.
The course is now integrated as a credited program at Pune and Mumbai University, accredited by institutions such as IIMs and IITs, and adopted as a core module for AICTE’s Innovation Ambassadors. To date, we’ve trained over 6,000 STEM educators across India to embed these skills within their subject teaching.

Nationwide Rollout
As one of eight national committee members, I contributed to the development of this 100-mark elective subject under India’s New Education Policy, in partnership with CBSE, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Skill Development. Initiated in 2021 and launched in late 2023, the course is now being implemented across thousands of schools in India.
Rooted in design thinking, the curriculum weaves together Sustainable Development Goals, major academic subjects, and Indian knowledge systems—making it both modern and culturally resonant. I led the creation of the Teacher’s Manual to support smooth classroom facilitation. We continue to evolve the course based on feedback and are currently conducting nationwide training programs to equip educators and school leaders with hands-on design practices.

Beyond building awareness around design thinking, innovation, and creative confidence, I design and deliver industry-specific workshops across sectors such as healthcare, law, insurance, incubation, engineering, and human resource management. These programs are tailored to real-world challenges, blending strategy with empathy to foster co-creation and intrapreneurship within teams.
Each training includes custom-developed materials—including booklets of sectoral design thinking case studies—and ends with a structured skill-assessment to ensure practical takeaways. The duration of sessions ranges from 5 hours to intensive 3-week programs.
To complement the hands-on learning, I also authored The Introspection Book—a reflective workbook designed to help participants restore and strengthen their humanistic skills post-training.
I have also delivered 1-2 hour talks about User Experience Design and Design Thinking at various Educational Institutes and conferences all over India.
